The President of the Republic H.E. Ilir Meta received today the new Italian Ambassador to Albania, Mr. FabrizioBucci, on the occasion of presenting the Letters of Credentials.
Congratulating him on the successful completion of his important mission in Tirana, President Meta assessed that Italy remains an irreplaceable strategic partner, as well as Albania's main trading partner.
In addition, the Head of State stated that "we welcome a greater presence in the strategic sectors of Italian investors in Albania".
President Meta praised the continuous support that Italy has given to our country over the years in the Euro-Atlantic integration processes.
The Head of State expressed his deep gratitude for the immediate assistance provided by friendly Italy to the rescue operations following the November 26, 2019 earthquake that struck our country, as well as the confidence in continuation of Italian assistance and the rehabilitation of earthquake-affected areas.
"A strong bridge of cooperation between our countries," said President Meta, "are also the Arberesh community and the Albanian immigrants to Italy."
The Head of State encouraged to jointly increase efforts to keep the Albanian language, the rich culture and traditions alive in the neighboring country.
