The Minischengen

The three initiators, Rama, Vucic and Zaev, “have failed to bring the 6 Western Balkan countries together at the third summit of the "Mini-schengen."

After a face-to-face meeting between Rama, Vucic, Zaev and Dukanovic, as well as representatives of the State Department and the European Commission-- the Albanian Prime Minister took the time to respond to Kosovo's rejection of the meeting, calling it meaningless and harmful.

Whereas President Vucic, who is clear about the benefits that Serbia will have from this regional cooperation, finds it necessary to implement the agreements that are still on paper.

“The movement of people with ID cards, free movement of goods and capital and the construction of a joint emergency center” are expected to begin in February following the summit in Belgrade.

The suspicion that the "EU stands behind this initiative as a way to unite the Western Balkans due to the policy of non-enlargement of the EU" was strongly opposed by the Montenegrin President, who for the first time was present at the event.

After visiting the areas affected by the November 26th earthquake in Durrës, President Vucic promised that Serbia would provide financial assistance to Albania.

***** Meanwhile, Bosnia and Herzegovina was not present at this third summit, as it stated in Ohrid that it was not ready to open borders with Serbia.
