The Democratic Party has published other documents that implicate the mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, in the money laundering scheme.
In a statement to the media, spokeswoman Ina Zhupa clarified the scheme, according to which Veliaj is laundering Italian mafia money.
Zhupa demands an investigation by the new justice, for what he describes as a corrupt affair.
Zhupa stressed that the Democratic Party will continue to denounce the entire scheme used by Mayor Veliaj in his abuses of public money.
"The Municipality of Tirana may have been used to launder money from one of the most dangerous Italian mafia clans, through the company created by Erion Veliaj, Eco Tiarana.
The company's Italian partners, friends of Erion Veliaj and Edi Rama, have been charged today with laundering Italian mafia money.
They have used for this criminal activity the public cleaning company of Verona, Amia, which is a partner with 49 percent of the shares in the cleaning company of Tirana, Eco Tirana.
This company was propagandized with much fanfare as the company that would not only make Tirana the cleanest city in the region, but was part of a major project to differentiate waste at its source and collection.
This is the moment of signing the agreement between Erion Veliaj and the mayor of Verona, Flavio Tosi 4 years ago. According to this agreement with the godfather Edi Rama, Eco Tirana is created according to the model of the public cleaning company of Verona, Amia.
Today it is revealed that this company has served the garbage mafia for money laundering, making its operation in Albania the main suspect for criminal activity.
Investigations by the Italian prosecution have revealed that the partner of the Tirana garbage company has been a mechanism for the garbage mafia in Italy and money laundering of the Ndragheta mafia clan.
The prosecution has indicted 26 people, including former mayor Tosi and Andrea Miglioranzi, for collaborating with a criminal organization, fraud, money laundering, bribery, drug trafficking, corruption, transfer of material goods in violation of the law.
The affair with the garbage mafia should also be investigated in Albania. Not only Erion Veliaj, who signed the agreement with Ndragheta's collaborator, should be investigated, but also Edi Rama, who is the initiator of this agreement between the mobsters, should be investigated.
So far, Eco Tirana, a partner of the Verona public company used by the Calabrian mafia, has been paid about 4m euros by Erion Veliaj, including payment for waste differentiation, when the process does not exist in Tirana. "
In Italy, investigations have been launched into 26 people, including former mayor Tosi and Andrea Miglioranzi, for collaborating with a criminal organization, fraud, money laundering, bribery, drug trafficking, corruption, transfer of material goods in violation of the law.
